In order to achieve softness to the touch, Yogamatters blankets go through a brushing stage. This lifts the fibres creating softness and without this stage, the blankets are very coarse. As a result of the brushing, the blankets shed fibres of cotton. These fibres show on dark coloured clothing and cushions. Machine washing can reduce shedding, but not necessarily stop it altogether.
